I'm Back

Hello All!!! Well I am back. I will try to share thoughts, life updates, etc on here. I am doing this so I can keep track of Kanyen's site. I am going to be an Auntie in 75 days!!! WOW!!! I can NOT wait! I intend to eventually be called Auntie Sarah. Auntie will be pronounced on-tee, not AN-tee. Get it right love. :) So it is 1:32 AM and I am getting up at 7. I just finished watching Golden Girls so now I will finish my game of Spider Solitaire, set my alarm, and sleep. This is my night time routine, but luckily I have no homework tomorrow. My Fridays are spent mostly in the office. The only class I have is Tumbling and Balance. It is SO fun. Kind of embarassing sometimes...but good over all. The office has been CRAZY! I have been working a lot of overtime because we just moved to a new location. It is SOOO nice but very hectic getting settled. I love getting a fresh start with organization. This is an obsession of mine. Not that you could tell by my bedroom floor. I've got an art project spread about. ANYWAY. Here is my current life.

Having an Open Mind

“Your Attitude Determines Your Altitude”

I saw this poster in the hall of my office building. I’m going to say it is very true. Sometimes, despite your attitude and determination, the world can still reject you. However, we have to remember what standards we are trying to reach. For example, one person might consider ultimate altitude to be wealth. Another might consider it to be family health and happiness. Regardless, your attitude will have an impact. My mother has brought to my attention that I often talk to her with a negative tone. Unfortunately, I’ve decided I often come off as having a negative tone or attitude. I think it’s because I am very defensive without realizing it. I’m going to have to make an extra effort to be less defensive automatically. With that attitude, I will not reach an altitude I want to seek. I guess this is just something I’m struggling with and the sign shot out to me for the first time despite the fact I’ve walked past it many times. Maybe this will help someone else along too! It is my goal to work on having an open mind and responding to others slowly so I can make sure I don't have a negative approach accidently. It's not that I really think negative, but apparently that is how I'm interpreted and acknowledging that will allow me to improve. So here I go, be patient. Prayers and wishes!

Starting Summer

Hello All,
The very few who actually read this…I thought I would update my blog since my life is very much different. I am HOME FOR THE SUMMER and so glad! Abilene is great and all, but it’s good to be home. So here are the major highlights:
***I’m living at home and the food intake has improved. Unfortunately, my body size has NOT haha, but I’m working on that. It’s good to be with my parents. I got to help work on the fence last Saturday. I had been out crazy late the night before, so I was tired, but surprisingly able to function. Clearly I’ve learned from college. Strange differences I’m adjusting to since being home is having cereal for dinner a lot or just having my own meal. Not because my moms incapable by any means, just what happens when dinner happens late after working on the fence. Also, switching trucks has been “fun” haha.
***I get to see Keith a lot! Also my besties Tori and Jordan!!! It’s really great. MOST IMPORTANT is AIDEN! I’ve missed that boy so much! Last Sunday I went to keith’s and I got to have him on the couch to get him to sleep..Keith kept feeding him ice cream so you can imagine how great that went. This weekend hopefully we will be taking Aiden to the park! But anyway, getting to see them frequently is the best ever!
***MY JOB! I am currently an employee of the Tomball ISD. $8.25 an hour baby! WHOOP! It will be terrible to go back to minimum wage at school, but it works. I work across the walkway from Tori so that’s a blast. We’ve had several lunches together now. Friday lunch with our mom’s and hopefully Mrs. Liz like today will become tradition. The people here are REALLY great! It’s been real fun! Every office has it’s drama and gossip and I love it! My first week is about to end and I feel like I’ve been here forever already.

So life is well! I’ve got 18 minutes left at work…we get off early because it’s Memorial Day weekend and we don’t have to work Monday. Tonight I am going to the Astros game and I am SOOO excited! (Keith’s b-day gift). We better win! Haha We WILL win! So now I have folders and notebooks and papers sprawled out so I look busy for these last few minutes as I count down to get out of here! Haha I know that’s terrible, but I don’t want to start a new project only to have to stop, and I’ve done allll the filing possible! So whatev. Ok well I am going to stall in a new way. I will try to update and write random thoughts more often again! No promises since it is summer, but I’ll do my best! SEE YA!

The Promised Updates

Well! The week of coming sophmore events has come and passed. So I shall give my updates. I should be sleeping, but I'm not quite tired enough, so this should help. First of all registration. My advisor is completely incompetent! I go to register and my advising code is not working. I was a little nervous I had written it down wrong or switched a number, but I remember double checking and writing slow to avoid that. SO! I have to walk across campus from my office to the Psychology Dept. My advisor wasn't there, which I expected. BUT! I saw Dr. Beck's office was open. For those who don't know, Beck is the favored psych teacher here who is genius, funny, great teacher, caring man, etc...we all love em! So I go in and I'm thinking he's the dept chair, but asked to be sure, "Do you know who the Dept chair is?" He said "Why yes I do". I said "It's you isn't it?" haha And it was. He hooked me up, asked which one I had been using, gave me my new one...NOTHING ALIKE! He asked who my advisor was and so hopefully Perkins shall die for messing me up like that! haha ANYWAY! I struggled to find a good computer that worked, connections weren't woorking because so many were trying to register. Finally, at work I got through. I got my classes!!! Sadly, I realized it was only 14 hours!! Not enough for me!!! SO! I dropped exercise science because thats just 1 hour credit and added another psychology class. Now I will be taking 16 hours. I'm sure it will be nice after 18 this semester! My classes include Pysiological Psychology, Test and Measurements Psychology (with Beck!!!), Message of the Old Testament Bible, American Literature before 1900, Sociology, and Beginner's Tennis (whoop!). I'm siked! Psychology will be so interesting, Bible is with all 4 of my girl friends and a guy friend of ours, American lit..eh, sociology won't be hard and will be interesting, and tennis...OMG will be so fun! I'm taking it with Madi and now I'll be able to whoop up on Keith!

Ok! Now then we had our housing meeting! Madalyn and I are trying to get into Smith Adams. It's two blocks off campus, but we want that because it's forced exercise, a new scene, etc. Plus aramark will come out there twice a week to cook for us, our rooms huge, and they're doing alot of stuff to it this summer! So we sign-up on the 21st...hopefully we'll get it!

Thrird-we had the all club rush. It was late, so dark, and it was CRAZY windy! I was in capris and a T-shirt so very cold. BUT! I met alot of people. We walked around the Kojie's table and the president Jamie just walked up to us! So we met her and another officer Amber, then saw Kate, they just kept passing us around introducing us to people. We walked around to the Siggie's table and Alpha Kai Omega. I know for sure, even more so after this, I want to be a Kojie. But we shall see. We have more rushes on Tuesday, so we will be hitting those too! It was complete chaos, but fun! Kate had cookies there that were delicious!

The rest of my week was fine. Worked and did school. Nothing major this weekend. Got pizza with a coupon and watched Sleeping Beauty with the gals haha. Heck yes we did! We each got assigned which fairy we were most like and then Riane was Sleeping Beauty cause she's blonde (not fair but whatev haha). We've decided we are SOOO being them for halloween...NO JOKE making dresses and all! I'm the red/pink fairy. She keeps things running smoothly!

Today at church I talked to an Elder about how to get better involved!!! I was nervous but it went well. I will be teaching in the nursery in a couple of weeks. He introduced me to the lady in charge of that and she was like "OH! I've been walking around with a clip board begging people!" haha So that worked out. However, turns out "nursery" really is what I call Cradle Roll, so I've got to do the little songs and whatnot to actually teach them, so I hope it goes well. The elder also introduced me to a university student who heads up the university meal team. Once a month the university group plans the Sunday evening meal on Wednesday and then that Sunday afternoon prepares it and serves it that night. So that will be fun! I'm looking forward to meeting people! Ok well I'm done. I've written too much! I will try to write again soon after stuff happens like on Tuesday! Pray for my parents cause they're traveling and left the home to my crazy brother who I love and miss! peace

Big Stuff Going Down

Well hello all! I'm doing good on this blog thing again! I'm at work and there's very little to do, and b y little I mean nothing. haha I'm thinking I go in the back and keep organizing the old front office that is basically a storage hah. BUT! This week does have big stuff going down. Yesterday-we had our meeting for Sophmore Housing. Madalyn and I are still rooming together. We were pretty set on where we wanted to live, but now we're changing haha. We're actually considering Smith Adams. It's like two blocks off campus, so we're excited about being able to walk and ride bikes every day for required exercise. Rainy days we can drive. Madalyn and I have the same first class every day together, so we hope, so it will be very convenient! The meeting was interesting and informative. We register on the 21st of April and I have a pretty good lottery number, so pray we get the one we want! Today is REGISTRATION! I register at 3:00. That's exactly when I get off work, so I'm going to see if they will let me stay here and use this computer. It's a desktop so it's bound to get better connection, since hundreds of people will be trying to do it at once. I REALLY want my schedule. I will update on my success. IF I get what I want...I will only be taking 15 hours. I know thats actually relatively normal, but I took 17 my first semester and 18 this past one. BUT it's all I could fit without going back to 18 and I'm thinking with pledging I would die! haha I do intend to pledge and thats the next big thing this week. Tomorrow we have an all crlub "rush" outside in the mall court area of campus (large courtyard between buildings haha) all the clubs will have tables set-up so we can get an overview of all of them. I do intend to try my best to get into KJK, which is the one Kate is in. Being a legacy would help, plus I've met alot of girls, so I'm hoping! But anyway, that whole process is starting to preview at the end of this semester before the BIG stuff next semester! My 3 best girls friends are pledging too...Madi wants to be in KJK also, but not as much as me. Riane and Amanda don't know. I think Riane is a siggie...and thats totally ok. THey make jokes as if we can't be friends if we're not in the same one...NOT true haha. Anyway. I guess thats the three big things going down. Kind of exciting! I'll be home in 30 days I believe! Whoop! I have a little countdown in my room haha. Keith is doing well if you've been wondering! He's working ALOT at the paintshop at the car dealership he works at and is enjoying it. Adjusting to things being different at church, but he's tough. I'm so jealous of him being home with Aiden all the time. I missed Aiden's two year birthday, but sent him a fun card. It will be nice to get home. I miss my parents. and my brother. I haven't talked to them as much recently...sorry guys...makes me sad. I'll call again soon! Ok well, I love you all!

My weekend

This has been SUCH a relaxing, re-grouping weekend. My friend Madalyn went out of town and Riane was here but busy, and so we all kind of got a break from eachother, which was nice. I miss them alot the whole time, but that's good to take time off sometimes. I got to see some familiar faces from home! The group came up for Bible Bowl competition here so I saw them alot. It was fun! I was walking to the video store and saw someone who looked like a lady from our church. THEN I saw two big white vans. I KNEW they had to be somewhere close! haha I looked and McDonalds..nothing. So I kept walking and THEN in KFC I saw familiar heads! So I ran in and shocked them. Got to catch up a bit. Couldn't resist some mashed potatoes and gravy! My favorite food! haha Came back and watched some movies. Premonition is a good, but intense movie! I got school done on Saturday, but I did enjoy relaxing also. Sunday I slept in. I had no ride to morning church, but Madalyn was out of town and I normally just go with her. My church that I prefer...only meets Sunday nights. I want to place membership, but I don't know if I should since I'm about to leave...but I WANT TO! :) I think I might. haha. I love the church, the elders, theyre all so amazing and uplifting. I met some girls there that live in my dorm and go every Sunday and wednesday...so hopefully I can start going on Wednesdays, something I haven't been able to do before. Anyway, so I slept in. Walked down to my sisters guy friends house where the truck was. Went on a search for Church's Chicken. Failed and got Sonic...a refreshing sonic wrap, which was perfect with the weather! Then I pulled out a blanket and did some school outside. It was AMAZING! I love the weather right now...PERFECT! Then Madi, Riane, and I went to the baseball and met up with some of our guys friends there. It was fun! Got some sun whoop whoop! Then Sunday night...I don't really remember haha. OH! Well I went to church and that was really nice. The lesson was SO good! I'll share in soon blog. Then I know I spent most of it doing school. So yeah. Thats my weekend. I'm loving it outside and trying to spend as much time as possible out there! Counting down until I come home! 31 days!!!

It's been so long....

Well-It has seriously been forever since I've blogged. I am very sorry for those of you who actually read this...mom...haha...but here I am with some time. Much as happened, too much to re-cap. Sing Song went down. Spring Break happened-Spent it in Arkansas with Keith and it was amazing! Freshman Formal happened-fun with the gals. But eventhough it sounds like I've got all the free time in the world...I'm swamped. Taking 18 hours was the right choice, but it's hard. I guess I will just ramble about this week. I had alot going on. I gave my first 6 minute speech on Tuesday. That was intimidating, but I made the time with 5 1/2 minutes and my topic was "How to Change a Tire". They, especially the guys, were impressed and said I did a GOOD job! So that was a relief! I've got a huge research paper I'm working on in English that will slowly be completed until the end of the semester. Kind of BORING topic compared to other classes, but thats ok. I had a major exam in Bible on Thursday. The review was intensive, but I also memorized a 6 verse passage for 10 extra points, whoop whoop. Today I had a major exam in Psychology. I was really stressed, because it was over 9 chapters, the study guide was 175ish questions with about 10 that were possible essay. I was up until 2:30 studying. But! I think I dominated it! I mean, we shall see next week when I get the grades, but whoop I feel good about it! On top of this I've also had my biology class. I recently got a better grade on my last exam which REALLY made me happy, hopefully I will continue to get better! So anyway! School is intense, but I'm making it out alright. We register Wednesday, so I've been trying to figure all that out! Actually, I'm about to do that now. I met with my new dept. advisor...not happy hah. Turns out he will also teach me next semester...I'm not feeling him AT ALL. Oh well.
This weekend a group from our church is coming up for BIble Bowl here at ACU, I'm hoping to get to see Macy and Brooklyn alot! Hopefully our youth minister will be flexible so they can come see my room! Speaking of my room, I can't wait to move into my next room with my next roommate. Prayers to make the final stretch would be GREATLY appreciated regarding that. I haven't seen my sis much this week at all and haven't gotten to talk to my family much. I miss everyone, it's weird not talking to them. I suppose I should call later today! haha I'm dead tired so I'll hush, but I'll try to get better again! Lots of love
