It's Been So Long

I have done terrible with this and I am so sorry! I guess I should start off where I ended, going to Oplin dance hall. We got a little lost on the way down there. It's out in the middle of NOWHERE! We had to stop and communicate between cars a couple of times and it was interesting. EVENTUALLY, we got there!!!! When we walked in, OH MY was it interesting. There were ALOT of old people there! At first we all just kind've stood around. Dave started off the dancing, and eventually we all got out there. I two-stepped with Jordan. Neither of us had ever done it before so it was funny. He did good though. I felt bad because I'm terrible about not leading. But we had fun, but the song was short. Then we did a line dance. I didn't know how, but after 3/4 of a rotation I had it! I could do it GOOD! After that...Andy and I walked off the floor and this strange guy approached us. He asked Andy if he could dance with his girl...me...I was like oh I'm not...BAM he yanked me on the dance floor! It was SOOO awkward and weird. He was a definite close talker. He is a freshman at ACU too. It was so awkward, he like got really into it, I didn't know him or what I was doing, the song lasted forever, GOODNESS it was a mess. After I walked off the dance floor I was like Andy, next time, just say NO! haha. Then I had another strange encounter from a guy that goes to Cisco Community College. He was trying to figure out where our group of girls went to college and stuff, weird! But after that they had this HUGE dance, I don't remember what it was called. We would link arms with people in a line, there were tons of lines, and we skipped around the room. Then we stopped, did theses little leg jiggles, run backward, then started it all up again. It was a blast!!! At first it was just us four girls. But then Matt came and linked arms with me, it was fun. Not long after that we did the CHICKEN DANCE! Matt and I got REAL into it haha. I was a little nervous because I was in front of a giant fan, in a dress, haha but it worked out.
When we left there the truck I was in with Matt, Amanda, Jordan, and I ended up going to a park. We had such a blast! Matt made me get on the tire swing...OMG he spun me so fast for so long! It was fun, but when I got off I felt so nautious and was walking funny haha. We all did that. We just played around on the playground. Matt tried to get up on top of the swing set. Didn't work. haha. Then we went to the field. Amanda and Jordan had a kartwheel contest to see who could go the longest. It was so funny!!!!! Then we finally had to leave cause curfew. I got back at 12:52AM. I don't remember much of that night. I pretty much just got back and went strait to bed.
Saturday, I obviously slept in. I was interupted by one of my neighbors. I had forgotten we had a Follies meeting. So I went to that and we just kinda introduced the lyrics and stuff that I wrote. Everyone loved it! It made me feel so great. I came back and just kinda chilled and re-grouped. Then Kate called. We ended up spending the day together. We ran to Chicken Express for tea, then to Wal-Mart, then back to her house. I was using her kitchen and hanging out. We watched some OC. Then we ordered Panda Express!!!!! I was SOOO excited, it was SOOO good! She had some people over and we watched a movie. It was so crazy cause one of her friends, had a friend, that happened to be my group leader at work camp in Huntsville a few years ago. It was so weird. It was neat to get to see him again. So I hung out there for a little while.
Sunday morning I got picked up by Anthony, a friend from college station, and we went church together. He wanted me to try Beltway Baptist with him. We got a little lost going there, BUT it wasn't our fault, MAPQUEST was WRONG!!! haha. So we went there. Class started...it was INTERESTING. They had a guitarist...it was hard to even hear my own voice so I felt bad for Anthony to have to hear me. We had some real good discussion there though. Then we walked over to services, OH MY. We walked in, all the lights were off. They had these blue lights that shined on the stage, which had white backdrops. There was a full out band with guitars, drums, keyboards, ect. There was even a fog machine. We sat down and just kinda observed. We both felt like we walked right into a concert, Anthony even thought it was the wrong place, but it wasn't. Then the band came out...they started screaming and then singing....we left! heh It was not a worship that we wanted to be part of or felt comfortable in. So we left and went to Red Robin. OMG that was sooo yummy! It was a real neat place, so I hope to go back there again. He brought me back and I just chilled for a while. At 4:45 Kate picked me up and we went to Hope Church of Christ. It's a small, but real neat church. We ate there and it was fun. Then they dropped me off.
During the week NOT alot happened. I mean I've been going to all my classes, we've hung out and stuff, but nothingTOO huge. It all kinda blurs together. Chapel's been good. Classes are really great. I really enjoy most my teachers. My math teacher...NOPE!!! She drives me crazy! My history teacher...he's hard to follow. At 8:00 in the morning its hard for me to stay awake to that guy. All my others are awesome!!! I often eat a smoothie or yogurt and a Special K bar for breakfast. I've pretty much had all my lunches and dinners at the Bean and I enjoy it.
OMG THE EVENT OF THE WEEK: RINGO!!!!!!! Andy and his brother got a puppy at Target...without really thinking it all through. Tuesday we went to Rosa's for Taco Tuesday and Ringo went in with us. After that we went to this lecture in Moody for two chapel credits...Ringo came there too! Then Andy and everyone else wanted to go running and play basketball. SOOO madalyn and I babysat. We went to Wal-Mart and then just played with him at Campus. It was such a blast, until Andy picked em up haha. Well, They ended up no longer being able to keep him DUH! WITHOUT even telling any of us, Stephen took him to the Animal Shelter. IT WAS A KILL SHELTER, he just didn't know that. Well, I told Madalyn we couldn't stand for this. She didn't take me seriously at first, she kind've joked about it, but I was serious about rescuing him. WELL, we put our two minds together and came up with a plan. Leaving out all the gory details, we got RINGO!!! He is currently in Lubbock with some of Madalyn's friends, and we are getting him to her cousin this coming weekend. So that was the biggest thing that happened this week, and I must say it was a pretty big thing! heh
Friday night, I went with Madalyn to a play for her theater class. It was interesting. The entire cast was made up of 3 people. It was alright, only one outstanding actor, but still it was pretty funny. Then we hung out with the gang, went to Monks coffee shop.
Today, I slept in!!! I got up around 11, I worked on the shopping cart for my boss back home. I'm trying to make some money! I could use some! Then, we all went to lunch at the Bean. We left there and I drove Madalyn, Riane, and myself to Wal-mart. We dropped off Riane, and Madalyn and I went to Ross to return some shoes, Michaels for art supplies, and Bed Bath & Beyond for her. It was fun. We went back, met Riane, and we all went to dinner again with the guys this time. We spent the evening hanging out. I came back to my room early though cause I wasn't feeling well. I got her eabout 10, took a shower, and I've been working on different stuff since.
I guess I will stop cause this is an overload of info. I should have time tomorrow to write JUST about tomorrow so you don't get so much at once! I love you all and miss you!

More thoughts ...

The 'funny little dance' is the Cotton-Eyed Joe! When the lines get really long (and some of the folks aren't quite sober), it can get dangerous! If you go back, see if any of the girls on the end of the lines are being twirled by a guy who's next in line. That is fun but ... also dangerous! I seem to remember an entire line going down one time because one person tripped. It was so crowded it was like dominoes!

You mentioned the Cisco dude on the phone. This is why you girls always need to travel in PACKS with some guys included!

Since you don't mention joining the cartwheel contest, I assume your hand is still healing. You haven't mentioned it to me since we talked to the doctor a week or so ago. I guess I'll see how it is on Friday.

Speaking of which, I'm really looking forward to seeing you but Sunday is going to be VERY hard.

Anyway, good choice on the performing church. If it feels wrong, it probably is!

Be patient with unpleasant teachers and rejoice in the good ones!

My words of wisdom for the day! Love you!!!
